New mattresses for 20 children in Pam Pam

On Saturday 14 October 2023, a beautiful party was organized at Pam Pam’s “𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐨 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐢” to welcome the return of the many children who, after spending the school holiday period in their villages and their families (for those who are lucky enough to have them one who takes care of them) returned in anticipation of the resumption of school and educational activities.

Thanks to the funds raised during the Easter 2023 period, during which hundreds of artisanal doves from the Solidarity Pastry shop were produced and distributed, it was possible to finance the purchase of the material for the creation of 20 mattresses to be placed in the dormitory rooms of the managed center by Father Servais.

There, in the center, many children still sleep on the floor or on handcrafted beds, built in wood by local collaborators, but without any minimum comfort; owning a mattress on which to rest at night is a luxury they cannot afford.

The availability and costs of obtaining them can also represent a major obstacle; in fact, the mattresses that were donated to the center were made near large cities and then the transfer to the area where the reception center is located was organized using makeshift means. Each foam rubber mattress has been covered and reinforced with plastic cases so that they can be used for a long time.

Great joy on the part of the children who were very happy to find this beautiful gift upon their return from holidays.
